Legends Series LG35 Super Ginrai - New Promotional Image Of Powermaster Optimus Prime Remold
RAC - Thursday, December 01, 2016

TakaraTomy's @TF_pr account on Twitter has posted a new image of Legends Series LG35 Super Ginrai, due out at the end of the month! This heavily remodeled version of Titans Return Leader-class Powermaster Optimus Prime is looking good, and will be released in Japan on the 28th of this month. Keep reading to see the image! Mechanically-translated Tweet:
Now in December. Later this month, that has announced this year's toy show products at the end of Super single is finally here. I have additional information and until the release date, so stay tuned to ♪(Hiroyuki) > Tomy(takaratomy) Maul Tomy(takaratomy)

Super Ginrai sports a lot of new parts. His forearms and feet are among the most notable: the forearms have fists with standard 5mm sockets, replacing the hinged fingers on the original Combiner Wars Ultra Magnus mold. There are also now suspicious 5mm ports on the middle of the forearm that look like you'd attach something there. Likewise, Super Ginrai's feet are new as compared to the PMOP/Magnus mold. New and weird. They add probably an inch or two to Ginrai's overall height, and look like they'll probably plug into something at a later date. In short, everything about Super Ginrai points to a compatible Godbomber toy being created somewhere down the road.

The other two remolds of interest are a new chest (including truck cab front), and a new faceplate for the Titan Master in the set. Where Powermaster Prime's Titan Master Apex had an Orion Pax-themed faceplate, Ginrai has a face which is pretty close to a dead ringer for the original Powermaster Optimus Prime's basic robot mode.

If all of that sounds good to you, Super Ginrai is due out at the end of the month for an SRP of 9,120 Yen, or roughly $80 with the exchange rate as it stands now.

Autobase Aichi has published a synopsis of the Transformers news in this month's issue of Hyper Hobby, one of the many hobby magazines published monthly in Japan. While the mechanical translation is typically shaky, it seems as though the Legends series, with its higher standards of deco, will be continuing alongside the Japanese release of Power of the Primes! But there is still a catch - keep reading for details.
Loopaza Mega Store has posted images of the packed-in paperwork for LG-60 Legends Series Overlord! The figure's bio card and (mercifully Safe For Work) comic are on display, showing off the new tooling for the figure's chest and Headmaster robots as well as a new mode created for the comic. ...but, kind of an expensive one. Keep reading for details!
Twitter user @kinoko51 has posted in-hand images of their just-purchased round of January's Legends releases from TakaraTomy! In addition to the Clonebots Fastlane/Fastclash and Cloudraker and Blitzwing, there's a side-by-side comparison of the US and Japan releases of Overlord. Keep reading to see!
TakaraTomy has released via their official Transformers PR Twitter account a set of photos showing off the small sheet of optional stickers that will be packed in with the upcoming LG63 G2 Megatron. The sheet leans in to the roots of the deco, including a MEGATRON RULES sticker for the chest emulating a major piece of the Hero Megatron toy's factory applied stickering, as well as the option of a G2 Decepticon symbol, or Predacon logos, speculated to indicate that the Legends pack-in comics may be assigning the identity of Predacon Megatron to this toy's Headmaster. We've mirrored the photos, and you can find them below.
Fresh off the forums, chuckdawg1999 has brought us a video review for the just-released legends series Slugslinger from TakaraTomy. LG55 features the Targetmaster Caliburst and sports a modified deco from the earlier Hasbro release. Chuck shows off both the Titans Return and Legends versions side by side to highlight the points of difference between them, though outside the choice of dedicated weapon versus Targetmaster, the only real changes come down to colors. You can watch the review right now, embedded just below in the full post.
