Masterpiece Cassettebot vs Cassettron MP-15/16-E Set Revealed

A vague rumor circulated recently about a new release of the Masterpiece cassettes, and though it's a little later than was promised, it looks like the reveal has come. TakaraTomy Mall has listed a preorder for a set of MP-15 and 16-E, which will contain cassette character Nightstalker, Stripes, Enemy, and Wing Thing. Interestingly, Nightstalker originally was a black version of Steeljaw - someone we currently don't have as a Masterpiece. Is this our first sign of an official Masterpiece Blaster on the way? Keep reading for details!

From the TakaraTomy Mall page, it seems that this is a product designed for the mainland Asia market, which TakaraTomy Mall will be carrying as a special exclusive. So it seems likely there will be other opportunities to get hold of these cassettes. Based on this, while the listing here is for 15 and 16, we can assume the Asia release will probably be individual versus releases.

As for Nightstalker heralding Blaster, well, it's certainly a different silhouette than Stripes, with every comparable part looking distinctly different even without actual details. Seems like it might be a good bet we're gonna start getting in to the Autobot cassette corps in the near future!
