Michael Bay: Transformers: The Last Knight 'Shorter Than The Last Three Movies By A Lot'

Michael Bay has taken to Twitter to address concerns that Transformers: The Last Knight would be over three hours long. According to the director, TF5 is "shorter than the last 3 movies by a lot." This raises some interesting questions, which we'll talk about after the jump... but it should mean at minimum that The Last Knight is less than 2.5 hours long. Keep reading for some light analysis!
So, Wikipedia helpfully provides us with a chart showing the lengths of the four extant Transformers films. Here's where it gets interesting: Revenge of the Fallen is the shortest of the three that Bay specified at 150 minutes, or two and a half hours long. But the original 2007 Transformers is only slightly less at 145 minutes. Was Bay trying to avoid saying that TLK is the shortest one? Or does this mean that the runtime falls between 145 and 150 minutes? We'll find out probably slightly before TF5's release date in three weeks, but it's interesting to wonder about in the meantime!
