The potential list of upcoming Transformers products we posted earlier
had a number of interesting items shown, but some of them seemed rather vague. But the English text on the image was only part of the story, and the Chinese tells a good bit more.
For instance, the two Movie Masterpieces designated seemingly only with numbers are in fact named in the Chinese text. Designated as 1 is Megatron, and 2 is Jazz. There is of course no sign of which Megatron body it will be, but even this much information dials things in a lot.
The Siege Firestormer set gives up a little bit more info as well. We could already read Slamdance and Sideswipe's names clearly, but a third was cut off. The Chinese text identifies the third piece as "Target Warrior" - or in given context, a Targetmaster which based on the first two letters Ai would be Aimless - mold at least if not in deco and character. The price is also a little higher than what we're seeing for a Generations Leader toy on this list, making it likely that along with Deluxe Sideswipe and a Battle Master using the Aimless body, Slamdance is also a Deluxe to build up to the indicated price point. Slamdance was a cassette combiner made from a jet and a tank. Sound familiar? It seems a pretty safe bet for Slamdance to end up being a redeco and probably minor remold of Skytread/Flywheels.
There's nothing much to add to the Greenlight listing, except the Chinese description does call it "Female Autobot Greenlight & Target Warrior", confirming that it is definitely the same Greenlight from Elita-1's team and that popular speculation of it being a redeco/remold of Chromia is probably right on.
On the Studio Series end, there's only one item that can be expanded on with some translation work: The KSI Boss is listed as being a redeco of Nitro Zeus. There's a good enough chance it'll see a head retool as well, but even if it does, it's likely the Headmaster compatibility won't be re-engineered out of the toy. So fans of the mold will have another deco to look forward to and people wanting spare bodies to house extra Titan Masters should also get a new option next year. Meanwhile the Voyager listed as "Hero" is described as "unknown", so no secrets to spill there.
This is far from actually verifying this information to be correct; The information it presents that we can verify as correct is info that's been easily available for a while already. But it also seems that every time I add one of these disclaimers, the subject in question does turn out to be true. So we'll wait and see. Toy Fair is, after all, just about ten weeks away, and if Hasbro is doing special sets like Firestormers, I'd expect they'll be eager to talk about them.
