We told you last night about what appeared to be a new reissue of G1 Optimus Prime - but only the robot portion of the toy, no trailer. A number of photos were shared, but that was all we really had to go on at the time. But one of those photos includes the product barcode with visible numbers. That allowed us to take advantage of some online resources and squeeze just a bit of info out of this.
Walmart's system does in fact show this Optimus when the UPC number is run through it, and while the item is "no longer available" according to walmart.com's listing page, we were able to find out what it's priced at: $49.97. $50 sounds a bit steep to us for just the cab portion of Optimus Prime - hopefully a few more accessories are hiding in that box to help balance out the value proposition here. But if Optimus without a trailer has to run $50 today, it'd be scary to think what the price tag might have been for the complete set.
