More Than Meets The Eye Grimlock Custom Takes TAV30 Battle Grimlock Back Towards Its Generations Roots
RAC - Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Twitter user @kotori_ryo has posted images of a particularly impressive take on Grimlock as seen in IDW's comics - most recently in More Than Meets The Eye: Revolution. Using Transformers Adventure TAV30 Battle Grimlock as its base, which was itself a remold of the more G1-like Generations Fall of Cybertron Voyager Grimlock, the figure is a pretty good match for the comic version and has a beautiful silver and gold finish. Keep reading to see!
In the accompanying tweet, @kotori_ryo explained that the finish is a combination of two paints in the Mr. Color range of Japanese model paints: the base color is White Silver, while the gold parts were accomplished with a coat of clear yellow on top of that.

The tweet doesn't specify this, but the antennae are clearly from Mobile Suit Gundam model kits; they're commander's antennae for Principality of Zeon Mobile Suits.

TAV30 Battle Grimlock was released by Hasbro in an Entertainment Earth exclusive 2-pack with what was probably your sixtieth copy of RID Warrior Class Bumblebee. They have gotten some mileage out of that mold.

To follow up on what we previously reported, More Than Meets The Eye artist Alex Milne returns to James Roberts' story, now known as Lost Light, with this week's issue, #13! Alex has shared his redesign for MTMTE cast member Red Alert, and it - and the explanation for the redesign - can be seen after the jump!
Earlier tonight we shared with you some photos of an apparently early-release copy of Rodimus Unicronus, the new addition to Power of The Primes Leader class wave 2. But there's a bit of a discrepancy with it, as highlighted for us on Twitter by Barricade64. The official images we've seen of the toy since it was revealed have featured aspects of its deco and the slight remolding of the Rodimus Prime head that point to an intentional nod at the Shattered Glass continuity that was a recurring staple of Fun Publications' time producing licensed material for the brand. It seems that isn't quite so much the case anymore. Keep reading!

Amazon Japan has posted stock photos for the majority of the June and July assortments of TakaraTomy's Power of The Primes releases. Firstly, this crushes a lot of last-gasp hopes from the fan community as we find that the Dinobots aren't being redirected to a revived Unite Warriors (instead being the majority of June's individual releases), and no Masterforce-based redeco of Darkwing and Dreadwind is forthcoming. We do get really good looks at a lot of what we're getting as wave 2, including our best look yet at the Alchemist Prime/Submarauder Prime Master. We've mirrored all the images below, click through to have a look!
Thanks to Justin geier who gave us the heads up on the in-hand images posted on Ebay of the Rodimus Unicronus In-Hand Images Power of The Primes Leader Class figure. This first wave of figures is barely out and we're already seeing the repaint hitting the shelves in Wichita, Kansas? Read on to see the in-hand images of Rodimus Unicronus below.
