According to an e-mail being sent out by Amazon Japan, the originally planned release date of the upcoming MP-41 Masterpiece Dinobot is being changed. Customers with Dinobot on preorder with Amazon Japan have been receiving the notifications advising of the delay in arrival from the originally planned release at the end of July. According to Amazon Japan, Dinobot has been pushed back from Tuesday, July 31, to Friday, August 3. A small delay, and one that may have been in the cards all along. While not unheard of, it's fairly unusual for new Transformers product to go out for sale early in the week like that. Amazon's July 31 date may have itself been the result of a "best guess" situation on Amazon's part going by a "late July" delivery estimate from TakaraTomy. In fact, the TakaraTomy Mall page for Dinobot still points to Late July for the release of Dinobot - specific shipping dates are usually added during the final month before a new product is released. In this case, Amazon Japan's August 3 may be our first sign of a specific date being attached, if TakaraTomy is beginning to inform retailers that the release is being pushed back from what could have been planned as a launch on July 27, a Friday.
Of course, the reasons here are largely speculative based on typical patterns. We'll of course keep following developments on this between now and early July when we should have specific information direct from TakaraTomy Mall about the planned date.
