So maybe you got the original Transformers TCG starter, which included Bumblebee, Ironhide, Red Alert, and Optimus Prime. And if so, maybe the idea of pitting Autobots against one another in your practice games didn't sit so well for you. And if all that is the case, good news: Hasbro gets you. The Official Transformers Trading Card Game Twitter announced that the new and improved 2-player Starter Set includes 2 Autobots (a new Bumblebee and Windblade) and 2 Decepticons (Megatron and Starscream) and is due out on May 3rd in the US and "certain other territories" (a phrase which was not at all meant in a sinister way but, man, once you put it in quotes...).
By all accounts the Transformers TCG appears to be a success and enjoys both popularity with the fandom and healthy support from Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro. The second series of cards, Rise of the Combiners, is out now and features exactly what the name suggests: combiners ranging from Dreadwing to Predaking. A Devastator theme deck is also planned for release soon.
Details coming soon, but our new and improved Starter Set: BUMBLEBEE VS MEGATRON was shown off a bit at the @TheGAMAOnline show and we're excited to share a peek at it!
