On Tuesday, June 7, the former editor-in-chief of the popular Spider Man series will put his artistic skills to work as he hosts a special comic book illustration workshop for people of all ages from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Patricia Kuran Cultural Arts Center on Watson Road.

Budiansky first started his career with Marvel right out of college in 1976 and worked his way through the editorial ranks in his 20-year stint with the publisher. During that time, he worked with popular comic book series such as The Transformers, The Avengers, The Fantastic Four, and Spider Man amongst many others.

While he was writing Transformers, he was "the main man at Marvel" for the series. In addition, he worked with Hasbro Toys in naming most of characters of the Transformers series and writing their personality profiles and copy on the packages. His comprehensive involvement with the comic book series and toy manufacturer led to his being named as one of the four original humans to be inducted in the Transformers Hall of Fame in 2010.
