DEADLINE has reported that "The Vanderbilt project" now has a release date of June 24, 2022. What is apparently a totally separate effort from the just-announced Josh Cooley, theatrical animation film project.
Not much is said that we don't know already, but they do recap the Beast Wars spinoff and re-name names of original Maximal core team members Optimus Primal, Cheetor, and Rhinox. A hopefully good thing, but remains to be seen how it will translate from CGI to a live-action film.
HOWEVER, don't get too excited because Bumblebee is still in the running, but there is an indication only one will make the 2022 cut?
Really excited, though I'm kind of worried how they'd adapt Beast Wars into a 2-hour film. I hope they don't try to cram too much of the story into it!
