Following on the recent report that Paramount has green-lit a new Transformers 7 sequel in the on-going live-action movie franchise for 2022. Movie entertainment site, Deadline, is reporting the contest between James Vanderbilt and Joby Harold for a Transformers movie script that has been finalized with Harold's being selected for production. At which point, a "lengthy search" was conducted resulting in the selection of Steven Caple Jr. as director for the next Transformers Movie.
With Cape, best known for his work on "The Land" (2016) and "Creed II" (2018), it appears Paramount is following a similar plan to the Bumblebee Movie with bringing on an up and coming director for the all-new installment. Even still, Michael Bay is expected to play a producer role much as he did in the Bumblebee Movie.
