Peter Cullen Interviewed About Optimus Prime Role From The Beginning To Machinima's Titans Return
ExVee - Tuesday, November 14, 2017

Coinciding with the premiere of Machinima's second Transformers web series, now featuring Peter Cullen in the role of Optimus Prime, Collider has released an interview they conducted with the actor. Besides a couple of their own questions, a number of fan-submitted questions were used, some getting rather interesting answers! We'll link you to the full interview, as well as give you some samples of both sets of questions. You can find it all in the full post below!

Collider: What are the core values that make up Optimus Prime?

Cullen: Originally, the character stood out for his very demonstrative sense of trustworthiness and leadership qualities that were deeply embedded into this steel body, for one reason or another. It was the qualities of human leadership within that character, and they were all there: Strength, honesty, nobility, trustworthiness, a wonderful sense of courage that is not egotistical courage, it’s more of a giving courage, a caring courage. Those qualities really stood out back then.

What’s his favorite moment or scene as Optimus? --Blake Livingston

Cullen: I would probably have least-favorite scenes. [laughs] I would include, the most important one, when I did the death scene. The other ones are doing all the screaming, yelling, blood-throat scenes; those are my least favorite. My most favorite scenes, which they don’t do enough, are when he’s written to express compassion and understanding. They never really want to express that level of Prime, which I thought was his most important, valuable trait.

Earlier tonight we shared with you some photos of an apparently early-release copy of Rodimus Unicronus, the new addition to Power of The Primes Leader class wave 2. But there's a bit of a discrepancy with it, as highlighted for us on Twitter by Barricade64. The official images we've seen of the toy since it was revealed have featured aspects of its deco and the slight remolding of the Rodimus Prime head that point to an intentional nod at the Shattered Glass continuity that was a recurring staple of Fun Publications' time producing licensed material for the brand. It seems that isn't quite so much the case anymore. Keep reading!

Amazon Japan has posted stock photos for the majority of the June and July assortments of TakaraTomy's Power of The Primes releases. Firstly, this crushes a lot of last-gasp hopes from the fan community as we find that the Dinobots aren't being redirected to a revived Unite Warriors (instead being the majority of June's individual releases), and no Masterforce-based redeco of Darkwing and Dreadwind is forthcoming. We do get really good looks at a lot of what we're getting as wave 2, including our best look yet at the Alchemist Prime/Submarauder Prime Master. We've mirrored all the images below, click through to have a look!
Thanks to Justin geier who gave us the heads up on the in-hand images posted on Ebay of the Rodimus Unicronus In-Hand Images Power of The Primes Leader Class figure. This first wave of figures is barely out and we're already seeing the repaint hitting the shelves in Wichita, Kansas? Read on to see the in-hand images of Rodimus Unicronus below.

It's been a contentious issue over the last couple of Prime Wars installments, and it's only getting more intense. We can see the appeal of stickers to solve budgetary problems, but we can also see the stickers peel - often before we've even bought the toy! In this editorial, RAC goes over the hows and whys of stickers and cites the remarkable consensus growing in a consensus-resistant collector community: Hasbro, Please Stop. Click through for thoughts on this sticky situation.
