Power of The Primes Elita-1 - First In Hand Pictures Of Wave 2 Voyager (How Bad Are The Stickers?)
ExVee - Sunday, February 11, 2018

Thanks to Ricky DeWeese who posted tothe Facebook group Transformers Addicts, we have our first look at Power of The Primes Elita-1 out of package. Elita and Hun-Gurrr both suddenly appeared in store at a Walmart in California this weekend, and we were able to share photos of Hun-Gurr with you earlier today. Elita-1 shows a healthy degree of new parts versus Starscream, leading to a decently distinct visual identity. What it largely has in common with Starscream is expansive wing stickers making up a large portion of the deco for the jet mode. But, it may not be quite as bad. Keep reading for images and more details!

This veers off toward "opinion piece" at this point, but while doing functionally the same thing that Starscream's stickers do, covering the majority of wing surface with complex printed details and text, to me it doesn't come off nearly as bad. The transition from the magenta plastic to an equivalent color on the foil stickers is much smoother than the change from grey plastic to silver foil on Starscream. The colors also contribute more pink to Elita-1's vehicle mode, and at least in terms of color layout seem to do a decent job of enhancing the deco. Now, they're still far from perfect. In the photos we have (one closeup of wing surface was sourced from Autobase Aichi, with original photographer currently unknown) we can already see edges peeling up, and the typical hallmarks of Hasbro's factory applied stickers in full effect. And if the metallic finish of the stickers is itself a problem for you, that's not going to be different here. But for myself, this seems like something I can live with easily enough. Unlike Starscream whose stickers were a final nail in that toy's coffin.

Now if only these new toys would hurry and move east so I could find them!

It looks like I might get this one despite the stickers.  But thanks for using your platform to bring this sticker mess to the forefront.  Its ruining many figures.  That's why I see many Starscreams shelfwarming in my area.

Following the pending release of the Power of the Primes. Machinima takes us behind the scenes to get the scoop from the new cast of voice actors who will be leading the charge starting in May. This video features all the new comers and veterans with insights from Mark Hamill, Judd Nelson, Gregg Berger, and Ron Perlman to name a few. Read on to see the full video below for all the details.
We'd heard previously that Hasbro subsidiary Wizards of the Coast - the gaming company behind Magic: The Gathering and current publisher of Dungeons & Dragons - would be attempting a new Transformers trading card game sometime this year. Today, UK site Total Cards has put up the first images and preorders for the new game in the form of an Autobots Starter Deck and the first wave of boosters. Keep reading for more information!
The official Transformers Instagram account has posted a brief slideshow showing off the development history of Power of the Primes Legends class Dinobot Slash! Showing the concept art, prototype, and final official photography, Slash is shown with a pair of thematically-appropriate short swords in the concept art - and while we're sad those didn't cost out it's not a very normal thing for Legends to ship with weapons anymore. So it's not exactly unexpected. Keep reading to see.
Amazon has added the finalized stock photos to their listing for Power of The Primes Optimal Optimus, the final new Leader mold coming our way in the current iteration of Generations. Optimus Primal was the winning character when Hasbro asked the community to vote for a new leader character last year, and we got our first glimpse at the design work during the first HasCon event in Rhode Island. While much of what the toy can do is shown in the newest round of stock photos, the actual flight mode is still omitted, so far only having been confirmed through TakaraTomy photography. Also omitted are some critical paint operations on Optimus Primal's face, unfortunately. You can see that and more in the gallery below!
Simon Chan of the Hobbymizer Hong Kong Discuss Facebook group has posted images of the latest issue of Figure King magazine! Within are images of the Predacons, their combined form of Power of the Primes Titan Class Predaking, and some design images of Predaking to boot! As camera shots as opposed to scans the quality isn't spectacular - but it's something to look forward to as better images come later on. Keep reading to see!
