While still what we would consider early in its life cycle, it seems that a running change has already been carried out on the latest member of the generations Starscream family. Jason Rye
reported this finding to us, which involves an alteration to how Starscream's wings/backpack connect to the body. The design tweak is said to improve how the jet mode comes together, and may have other benefits as well. You can see a side by side comparison of the two versions of Starscream, find out more detail, as well as get one of the batch codes identified as being associated with this running change below. The new version features a channel cut in the side of the post socket, and the backpack is now attached at a slight angle. Reportedly this update allows the toy to peg together more completely and more securely and improves overall alignment in jet mode. Jason reports that some user-level work may still be required as the new version still apparently featured mold flash in some of the slots, but the overall experience seems to be better than the initial release. Jason gave us the batch code 73101, which can be found stamped in the box. Other codes may also feature this change, but at this time we aren't aware of a wider range to look for. There's also a good chance that Elita-1 will ship out with these changes in effect right from the start.
