Power Of The Primes - The Nine Candidates To Lead Cybertron Revealed

Following up today's announcement of The Power of The Primes fan-choice poll, the Transformers Facebook page has posted an image revealing the nine characters who we'll be choosing from when voting opens in January. Some of the selections are unexpected, though an obvious nominee or two are still present. Sadly the image seems to confirm the currently reigning (at least in IDW) Starscream is not among the picks, which is sure to disappoint on the assumption that IDW will need to follow along with whatever choice is made. Keep reading to find out who's up for Matrix Bearer in 2017!

As seen in the newly posted image, our options will include Ultra Magnus, Hound, Arcee, Shockwave, Megatron, Star Saber, Thunderwing, "Unknown Evil" (represented here by Deathsaurus), and Optimus Primal.

Most definitely some interesting choices. Star Saber could make his Hasbro toyline debut if he were to win, Optimus Primal is a surprising inclusion, while the likes of Thunderwing or Shockwave would more prove interesting in seeing how the comics would find a reasonable way to bring these dead characters back in to current storytelling in order to fall in line with the polling selection. Voting starts on January 17th, with finalist voting in early February and the winner to be announced during Toy Fair in New York a little later that month.
