Quickstrike - Beast Wars - Figure

As one of only two Fuzors that made appearances in the Beast Wars cartoon, Quickstrike is an example of this subgroup done right. And, thanks to Mainframe’s attention to detail, he also is quite accurate with his cartoon character model.

Tech Specs
Predacon Fuzor: Quickstrike
Function: Desert Combat Expert

There are few robots as downright mean as Quickstrike, even his fellow Predacons steer clear of his terrible disposition whenever possible. His deadly cobra-headed tail squirts a venom that instantly paralyzes its victims, leaving them defenseless against his razor-sharp scorpion pincers and attack claw.

Beast Mode
In his beast form, Quickstrike is a fusion of a scorpion and a cobra. So, instead of the usual stinger tail a scorpion would have, Quickstrike’s tail forms the cobra portion of his physiology. He is mostly a clear yellow/orange with some green highlights. His legs are orange and his snake body/tail is a dark brown. Quickstrike looks very nice despite the clear plastic. In both modes, you can squirt water from the snake head by lowering it into a cup of water of pushing in on the lower portion of the snake head. Releasing it causes the small reservoir to fill with water. Squeezing it again with squirt the water a short distance.

Transformation
Flip the Fuzor over and rotate the tail/leg section so that they face outward from the body at the sides. Bring the robot head out and rotate the scorpion chest over. Flip the scorpion head back and manipulate the arms/claws to form the robot legs and feet.

Robot Mode
Outside of a little more brown showing in this form, Quickstrike’s color scheme is no different than in beast mode. Thanks to the segments in his snake arm, he has twenty points of articulation, His right arm is extremely posable. His left hand is comprised of his scorpion legs, thus giving him a rather large hand. Again, he looks very nice in this mode as in his beast mode. The clear plastic used does take a little away from the look, especially his head since it gives the impression that there’s nothing upstairs. And given his portrayal in the Beast Wars cartoon, maybe that’s where the writers got their inspiration.

Overall
Quickstrike is well worth picking up. Although he is a bit smaller than the other show characters in the line, he looks great, has a decent transformation and is likely the most articulated Transformer to date.
