Upon coming into contact with some Angolmois energy supplied by Gigastorm,
BWII Thrust was changed from a fighter jet into a vicious cyborg raptor,
Thrustol!
Beast Mode
Thrustol is a recoloured and remoulded Dinobot. Mostly a dirty
yellow and gray, with lots of metallic silver and gray techno parts
scattered over his form. His teeth are white and the inside of his mouth is
red. He also has some red wiring on his body. From his snout to the tip of
his tail, he is about 23 cm (9.1") long, and stands 12 cm (4.7") high. His
lower jaw opens and closes, his shoulders are ball-jointed, and each of his
legs has six joints, including the toes.
Thrustol is a fearsome beastie to say the least. Like his partner Dirgegun,
the right side of his head is normal, with a white eye and black pupil, but
the left side is covered with techno parts, including an eye piece and a
wicked looking blade mounted on top of his cranium. His right arm is totally
mechanical. His underbelly is heavily decorated with techno matter, and his
left leg is mostly mechanical as well. Finally, his tail has wiring and
spikes on it, plus a fork shaped missile head protruding from the tip.
Pressing the silver trigger on his tail causes the missile to fire a short
distance. It's not nearly as impressive as Dirgegun's cannon, but it's still
a neat feature.
Transformation
Thrustol's transformation is the same as Dinobot's, with no
new tricks. For those who don't have Dinobot, that means he's fairly
complex. His flip out heels have been remoulded to look totally mechanical.
Robot Mode
In robot form, Thrustol stands about 14 cm (5.5") high. Again,
as with Dirgegun, the left side of his face is normal, with a pink eye and
sharp white teeth, while the right side is all mechanical, with a rounded
eyepiece. Better hope he never bumps into you, what with the blade on his
chest. I also like all the mechanical detailing on his shins; very TM2ish in
its asymmetry. As a robot, Thrustol has joints at the head, arms, hips,
knees, and ankles. The ones in his legs seem stiffer than the ones on my
Dinobot figure, allowing for him to be put in a wide range of action poses.
Like Dinobot, Thrustol's tail becomes a spinning slasher weapon. Spins
pretty nicely. But instead of a sword, he has a removable missile launcher
concealed inside. And if those weapons aren't enough to annihilate his foes,
Thrustol can always use his serrated machete blade. The blade attaches to a
post on his left shin. This makes Thrustol a virtual walking arsenal, a real
commando-type warrior.
Overall
Suspsy Sez: Thrustol is one of my favourite Deluxes, and a worthy
partner for Dirgegun. The cyber-raptor looks as dangerous as they come, and
the missile launcher is a good touch. His robot mode is a real treat; finely
detailed and very poseable, with awesome weaponry to boot. As far as I'm
concerned, Thrustol is a must buy for any serious TF collector. 10/10
