Optimus Prime - RID - Figure

I used to own the first Prime back when I was 8 in the year 1987, saved up for him and everything and my baby brother and sister destroyed him easily. Man he was a great toy, so when I saw this version of Prime I wasn't sure what I thought. I loved the first Prime with his great looking truck mode and the good robot mode, so how could a Fire Engine vehicle mode and a somewhat unstable looking robot mode compare to the greatness of the first Prime? Well I found out for myself- Vehicle mode: At first I thought this mode was poor, it lacked the great trailer and potential of sending my RID Megatron flying back hard, but I soon found out that the ladder of Prime could do the same thing with a good hard flick of the wrist, even sent my Beast Wars Megatron flying hard with that. Also after looking at the front of the vehicle mode, I now have to admit he looks mighty sweet and deadly, here's hoping I can find Scouge here in the UK, imagine the battle with that. Robot mode 1: His first robot is good, I like the familar Prime looks, even though his legs are a little unstable and it takes a few seconds to get him to stand right. Also......why is his main weapon so small? I liked the older Prime's rifle, looked so much better than the peashooter he gets this time. Oh well, at least this new Prime has a good robot mode. Lots of poses, if only he would stand up when they're done... Robot mode 2: Ah, now this is nice. Bigger, solid looking, even though that isn't exactly the case, and looks annoyingly harmless. He falls apart too easily and making him pose right is a task in itself, seem the armour you have to clip on is somewhat weak, maybe a remodel would be nice. At least he looks nice for the camera, it's just such a shame he's hard to play with like this. Base Mode: Not too bad, seems to fall back too easily though because of the ladder's weight. The guns are cute, but I rarely use this mode. In fact I rarely play with this toy, not allowed. I like Prime adn this Prime is nice, but it has an awful lot of problems that make it hard to play with, shame really because this toy is fun and very nice looking, here's hoping the next Prime doesn't have any problems.
