Circuit Action Master - Generation 1 - Figure

There are a few Transformers who as exclusives rake in huge amounts of money on eBay. I did a review on G1 Flame, the Motorvator/Brainmaster before who was only available in Japan and Europe.

This Transformer is even more exclusive having only been released in Europe. When the US was fed up with Action Masters, they continued releasing them in Europe.

Because they cannot Transform and their arms and legs fall off after extended play, many people hated them. I was not fond of them either, I must admit. I had several, including Shockwave but none has "survived" the wars without losing a limb. They could have been better if they had solved that problem.

I was fortunate to find this guy on eBay. I had a bid on the G1 Predator Stalker and the seller also had Action Masters Circuit and Windmill on eBay. Since they were EXTREMELY cheap I placed a bid and won!

Anywhoo, on to my review for Circuit. He is expensive but is he worth it? Well read on ...

Circuit is a repaint of Axer. Never owned him but I am not really fond of the sculpt. And the colors make it even worse. Circuit's primary colors are yellow and green. It is not a nice dark green which might have worked but closer to turqoise. There is also orange and purple with red used for the headlights.

Circuit has rather large big eyes which are light green. They almost look as if he is scared. But that is no surprise if you see the vehicle he comes with. So the color scheme is pretty bad but not in a fun way as with Action Master Thundercracker.

Circuits race car has got to be one of the crappiest vehicles for Action Masters. It is supposed to resemble a F1-race car of some sort but it does not look sleek, especially with Circuit in it.

The vehicle is decently sculpted as best but could have been so much better. The nose section looks ok and the engine part is nicely sculpted. The engine is 2 seperate parts but that is for the next mode so I can live with that.

Now for the bad. There is no steering wheel or control console but just a handlebar to fit Circuits fists in. Circuit can sit in it just fine but he looks more like a kid riding a go-cart than a Transformer racing off to battle. And the worst thing is, he has no weapons of any kind.

It gets even worse. The vehicle is not even color coordinated with Circuit which would have made them look better together.

But it does have better colors than Circuit. It is mainly a light red. The back section with the engine is purple and there is silver on the engine. The wheel suspension is neon green and in certain places turqoise can be found.

The vehicle is not just Circuits transportation but also his exo suit. But this sounds much better than it looks.

Transformation is very simple. Just flip the back section around and pull out the nose section. Place Circuit's legs in the holes and flip the nose over him. That is basically it.

The exo-suit does not look that great. Circuit has one weapon and it does not look like a Machine gun as his Tech specs suggest. Circuit can move his arms but that is it. This does allow him to use weapons of his collegues. As for the exo-suit does cover him pretty decently. Only his arms and face can be seen.

So it is a cool idea but the execution could have been so much better. Robots In Disguise Prime is a prime example of this.

In short, unless you want to collect EVERY Transformer I would suggest that you avoid Circuit. His combined mode looks ok, perhaps even cool but Circuit self is a pretty bad Transformer and the vehicle mode of the race car is bad too.

And for the money you usually need to spend for him one can buy much better Transformers.
