Robots In Disguise Second Season To Be Shortened - Full Series Episode Count To Be 45?
RAC - Saturday, October 03, 2015

TFW2005 has posted images of a Hasbro brochure from the MIP Junior Conference in Europe - the venue where we recently discovered the "on offer" status of RID's second season. The brochure gives current/projected episode counts for the properties Hasbro is shopping around this season... and RID's episode count is given as 45. This would mean a nineteen episode second season, and cast serious doubts on the series' original plan of 3x26-episode seasons. Read on for more details!

The rest of the episode counts are in-line with what each show will have at the close of their current seasons, with Transformers Rescue Bots clocking in at 104 episodes, making it the longest Transformers animated series ever made. Also worth noting is the episode count for My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, which is consistent with the series' episode count through its previously-announced sixth season- there's no indicator that season 6 will be the final one at this time, but the episode count is what is available to networks this year.

So while it's not a foregone conclusion that Robots In Disguise will end with its second season, it's also not the best of signs that its second season is shorter than the first.

Also worth noting in TFW2005's report is the trailer shown at MIP which specifies that the Decepticons of the TV show are "a new faction of Decepticons." Hopefully the second season will elaborate on that!

Multibrink of Brazil are rolling out a whole new line of Transformers Robots In Disguise toys. I mean that literally, with all new molds and vehicles that we have never seen before. Don't get too excited, as these non-Transforming toys are not even Transformers. With licensing in hand, they've re-purposed all sorts of pre-made cars, trucks and plane toy molds. Plastering them with Transformers characters and logos, that make them official, but a good bit less than meets the eyes. Still, there's someone out there who collects these fauxformers that we have seen before. Such as the Micron Densetsu cars from Kabaya, among other companies.
Reuters reports that Hasbro has followed through on their acquisition of the master toy license for Power Rangers and exercised their right to buy the brand from Saban outright. The most popular franchise of the early 1990s went for a relative steal at roughly $520 million dollars - doubly so when we find that other Saban brands are included in that deal, including `80s plush brand Popples. But what else might this deal have done? We'll speculate wildly after the jump.
Easter Bunnies in Europe will have some heavy lifting to do delivering the 2018 edition Transformers Easter Eggs from Sorpresovo. The colorful plastic eggs are filled with robots in surprise, including three blind packed action figures from the One Step Changers, Titan Guardians and Last Knight Legion series for around $40 USD. Read on to get a look at the package toy and sample images below.
From chuckdawg1999 on the forums, we have a new video showing one of the final two Crash Combiner sets from Robots in Disguise, featuring Bisk and Saberhorn. This, and the Optimus/Grimlock combiner pair seem to be the final toys for the RID line. The assortment has evidently started to be available in some capacity in the US, following a release in some of Hasbro Asia's territories a bit earlier. We have Chuck's video embedded below, so click through to take a look and see what the new combiner set is all about!
Amazon has posted listings with images for what are most likely the last two Crash Combiner sets! Primelock (a combination of Optimus Prime & Grimlock) and Saberclaw(Saberhorn & Bisk) are listed as being available in April 2018 - which is a date connected with a lot of Transformers listings of late. It's tough to say if these will ever show up at US domestic retail, but keep reading to see the images.
