Happy SDCC everybody! Our team on the ground is at Hasbro's preview breakfast event, getting a first look at new official Transformers reveals. We have pictures this morning of Siege 35th Anniversary Edition Bluestreak, redecoed from Prowl, naturally, Soundblaster, featuring a retooled tape deck door that looks like it holds two cassettes now, and perhaps most exciting of all, a new toy-based 3-pack of Siege Refraktor.
The Refraktor Reconnaissance Team deftly avoids the issue of having to secure the individual names of Spectro, Spyglass, and Viewfinder, but represents each rather well with G1 toy-accurate decos, and special exclusive accessories to dress out the camera mode, including a front grip and shutter button that become an extra shield, a flash head that can be attached to a robot mode accessory port as a weapon, and a viewfinder that splits to become extra armor.
The special packaging for the set is made to resemble standard DSLR camera kits, and as an extra bonus, the set seems to come with at least one Kremzeek mini-figure! Two Kremzeeks were seen in the display, but since multiple sets were used to display all the modes, the extra might be from that. We should have more details on that front very soon though!
Stay tuned for more SDCC Transformers news all day today and through the weekend!
