we have a sighting report of the new assortment of Cyber Battalion figures featuring Shockwave and Sideswipe, plus some new photos of Shockwave. The figures were purchased at a Walgreens in San Francisco (of which we assume there must be a staggering number all told) with at least one other sighting in the same area indicating the beginnings of distribution for the new wave. They're priced the same as their predecessors at Walgreens, around $18, though it seems to vary by location. Click through to check out the new photos.
We've got a quick few images on Weibo giving us our first in hand look at the new Cyber Battalion Sideswipe. Part of an assortment with the brand new Shockwave, Sideswipe has been accused of not entirely representing the typical look of the character, and now we have a clearer idea why: It shares fundamental engineering (and probably some of its parts) with Prowl. While many parts look brand new, some of the inner body structure does seem to be shared between the toys, and they seem to transform identically. You can get a good look at the pair side by side in the new photos to compare them for yourself, click through to see!
This evening via twitter, Flame Toys has shared some new photos of an early sample of their upcoming figure of Tarn. Tarn is the first of IDW's Decepticon Justice Division to get an official, licensed figure representation, albeit a non-transforming one. Flame Toys reports that they've finally finished the color master as depicted in these images, which should represent what the full production run will look like later on. We have the photos mirrored for your convenience, check them out just below!
Thanks to Weibo user NOTRAB. We have look at the Transformers Power of the Primes Optimal Optimus figure. The Beast Wars Maximal Transmetals II design figure is finally seen out of package. Giving us a look at what the final production edition will look like. Read on to see the figure out of the box in his robot, ape, and jet modes after the jump.

It is being widely reported that the UK branch of ToysRUs has failed to find a buyer and all 100 stores will be closed within six weeks. The first 25% have already closed or will be closing within a few days. There have also been reports via Twitter of TRU UK not honoring store credit and giftcards, so if you're sitting on those in another territory, you might want to spend them now.
The SDCC 2015 Combiner Hunters
boxset remains one of our all-time favorite SDCC exclusives, providing new color schemes for Arcee, Windblade, and Chromia and equipping them with wonderfully ridiculous gigantic weapons for fighting Combiners. Recently, artist Ken Christiansen
posted his lineart for the packaging to Facebook, showing off both his individual images for the characters as well as the finished composition. All this, plus package lineart for Titans Return
Skullsmasher - click through to see!
Thanks to Jay over at TNI, we have a look at the new Transformers: Power Of The Primes Deluxe Dinobot Combiner Volcanicus figure from Hasbro. You need the Voyager Class Grimlock and the Deluxe Class Slug, Swoop, Snarl and Sludge to be able to form this combiner.
Yesterday was International Women's Day, a holiday whose origins lie in the commemoration of women gaining the right to vote in Russia. So... who better to celebrate this than Wreck-Gar, apparently? Via the Transformers Russia
official social media page on VK,
we're treated to our first look at Power of the Primes
Deluxe Wreck-Gar, who is now confirmed as basically the only thing we know of that would be appropriate for the character, a remold of Combiner Wars
Groove. Keep reading to see!
The usual Weibo leaker has posted official stock photography of Cyber Batallion Class Shockwave! Which we were not expecting to have an elaborate transformation, but... that head stick up there sure is something. Hasbro has been so successful in anthropomorphizing a simple shape with antennae and a yellow light that we can't not
read that as just a head sitting on top of a space jet. Keep reading for a closer look.
Enjoy The Ride Records
sub-label Enjoy The Toons
has announced further details for the Vinyl LP release of selections from the G1 soundtrack! The soundtrack will go on sale Friday, March 9th at 12 Noon EST
and will be limited to an overall pressing of 2,000 copies with 500 of those going to a ThinkGeek exclusive "Bumblebee" color release. Pricing is not mentioned. Keep reading for more info!
Via Hobby Search,
we add a pair of significant new photos to this morning's TakaraTomy Power of the Primes stock photo drop.
This time we get a good look at Abominus, as well as Elita-Infin1te. You can also make out the spare "Prime Armor" fists stuck on the back of Abominus' feet, and oh boy
is that color mismatch going to bother us forever. Keep reading to join us in being bothered!
has listed all of August's Power of the Primes
releases for Japan with new stock photos! Beyond decent galleries for each of the Terrorcons, there's also some photos of PP-27 Leader Class Optimal Optimus that confirm that he can indeed assume the Flight Mode of the original toy! Definitely reassuring given that even his package only shows a biped-to-biped transformation. The photos also give us a preview of September's TakaraTomy releases by revealing the identity of PP-28. Keep reading to find out!
While Cyber Battalion Shockwave was seemingly just released in Taiwan, Weibo user NOTRAB
has the first in-hand image of what appears to be a production sample! (The giveaway is the numbers printed across the torso - that's a common thing with Hasbro display samples.) The figure is displayed alongside a Masterpiece Shockwave, and while it's never going to match up to MP-29 in terms of complexity it's honestly quite nice in terms of styling. Keep reading to see the photo!

There's been a small stir caused by Toywiz adding a listing for Volcanicus, the combined form of the POTP Dinobots, to their storefront this weekend. Many have jumped straight to the conclusion that it's the return of the Hasbro combiner boxsets that we saw fill out the second year of Combiner Wars. I can't say definitively that it isn't. But I think the probability of that being the case is quite small. Keep reading to find out more.
