It's been a contentious issue over the last couple of Prime Wars
installments, and it's only getting more intense. We can see the appeal of stickers to solve budgetary problems, but we can also see the stickers peel - often before we've even bought the toy! In this editorial, RAC goes over the hows and whys of stickers and cites the remarkable consensus growing in a consensus-resistant collector community: Hasbro, Please Stop.

After a lot of crazy things happening all in a relatively short span of time, it seems like life is finally starting to settle down, with efforts to smooth tensions between Cybertron and Earth being foremost in Optimus Prime's mind. I'm sure nothing could possibly turn up to get in the way of that! "The Falling, Chapter 1: Surfeit of Primes" written by John Barber, art by Kei Zama, colors by Josh Burcham. Transformers At The Moon
is continuing to release their collection of original G1 audio recordings, this time moving onto the episode "A Plague of Insecticons"! As is typical of these tapes, you've got the late Wally Burr providing voice direction - and a number of lines that didn't end up in the final episode. Keep reading for the video and a transcript!
Coming from Weibo, we have some grey prototype images showing MechPlanet's small-scale Optimus Prime-alike. HS02 seems to be called "Mini Lider" and while the photo quality for many of these isn't great, it seems to be a decent representation of the character design. The photos we have show an energon axe and rifle, plus flip up panels on the forearm in a similar manner to the pop-up communicator screen from the Masterpiece. The chest is also conspicuously hinged, which probably means it has a matrix and storage space for it. You can find all these photos mirrored below!
Transformers Authentics, the "evergreen" style simple budget figures that seem to be taking after the Cyber Battalion series now have product listings on Hasbro's website. The first batch including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Starscream, and Megatron are not yet available for purchase from Hasbro Toy Shop, with their "Buy" buttons leading to error pages. But these listings do confirm the SRP, with prices listed at $4.99 each. The listings include the same images that we saw with the Amazon releases recently. Keep reading for links to the individual pages.
Newsarama has provided our first look this afternoon at the full length preview for next week's issue of Optimus Prime
. Issue 15 launches "The Falling", a storyline which should see the return of Onyx Prime, an event hinted at for some time already. We'll have a review of the issue for you early next week, and in the meantime, click through to see the preview in our gallery below.
We still don't know when or how (c'mon, Toy Fair!) but it seems like it's happening: regular Weibo leaker tf-factory
has posted leaked artwork for Power of the Primes
Blast Off! It's a nice looking painting which, unsurprisingly, shows him off in his shuttle mode to emphasize the Unite Warriors
mold in use here. Also, we've got artwork for Studio Series
Optimus Prime and Starscream. Click through!
We recently saw an unofficial, non-transforming, high detail action figure representing Optimus Prime from Transformers Prime
by Iron Warrior. Iron Warrior has just shown off another upcoming figure of the same type, this one called "Strife 07" and based on Brawl from the 2007 Transformers movie. This figure likewise does not transform, but seems to focus on sculpt detail and articulation more. Unfortunately the provided photos don't represent the scale of the figure well, so it's unclear at this point whether Brawl will be appropriately large. You can check out the mirrored images below.
It's been a little while, but the TF @ The Moon team has once again released some lost studio recording audio from the G1 cartoon for everyone to enjoy. The latest samples come from The Ultimate Doom part 3, and the followup episode Countdown to Extinction. Of special note, Countdown to Extinction features a few Optimus Prime lines done by a fill-in in place of Peter Cullen, who sounds a lot like Chris Latta to us. These lines were obviously never meant for broadcast, and are another rare inside look at some of the technical side of the making of the old cartoon. Both videos are embedded below and are definitely worth a listen!
New images have been released on Weibo of the Iron Warrior Pioneer prototype model. This figure is a cartoon accurate edition of the Tranformers Prime Optimus Prime figure complete with a floating transparent windshield, and his giant Star Saber created by Solus Prime. Read on to see the images mirrored in the gallery below until we know know more about the price and release date.
Thanks to Transformers artist Emiliano Santalucia who has shared a look at the Optimus Prime artwork for the Optimus Prime character Tiny Titans Collectibles Card. This cool looking design brings together the look of his G1 and Robots In Disguise characters. Read on to see the image below.

RAC continues his look back at 2017 with his three favorite comics of the year - plus a couple of runners-up! It's been a good year for Transformers comics overall, and there've been some pleasant surprises for us. Including - and RAC was very skeptical about the possibility of this at the beginning of last year - some Shared Hasbro Universe books that turned out truly excellent. Keep reading to see the list! ...well, it's more of an article. We need a word that combines those two things...
