It's been a contentious issue over the last couple of Prime Wars
installments, and it's only getting more intense. We can see the appeal of stickers to solve budgetary problems, but we can also see the stickers peel - often before we've even bought the toy! In this editorial, RAC goes over the hows and whys of stickers and cites the remarkable consensus growing in a consensus-resistant collector community: Hasbro, Please Stop.

(formerly known as Latino Review) has posted the full cast list for Power of the Primes.
The third Machinima series with CG by storied anime studio Tatsunoko Productions features a great many new voice actors as well as many returning voices from the first two installments - some in new roles. Keep reading for the list.
Wrapping up his Best Of 2017 series, RAC looks back at the things that excited him more as news stories than anything else this past year. A lot of those come down to toys that didn't necessarily make his Best Of list for the year, but did unfold in interesting ways news-wise. Pour yourself a bowl of Trypticon's Titan Master Crunch and keep reading to see the best news of 2017!
Transformers Generations Power of the Primes Leader Class figures are 9-inch-scale figures that come with a Matrix accessory and converting Evolution Armor. Use the Evolution Armor to evolve these figures. With the Matrix of Leadership, Orion Pax becomes leader of the Autobots: Optimus Prime. Autobot Hot Rod becomes leader of the Autobots: Rodimus Prime. The set is priced at $99.99 or each single it $54.99.
Finally, the last price point for wave 1 of Power of The Primes has hit retail in the US, marking the completed launch of the newest iteration of Transformers Generations. Rodimus Prime and Optimus Prime, comprising Leader wave 1 have been purchased from a Target in Duarte, California by MoonStreakr
who shared a photo of the toys with the receipt for verification. It looks like these have been pulled from a freshly opened case, and as of the time of this writing, online checks of Target's database are not indicating any stock in the country, so we may have to wait a bit for the system to catch up before it's time to start the hunt again. Thanks to Kevin Liu we now have a very good look at Leader class Rodimus Prime, capping off the first wave of Power of The Primes. Kevin's video is of course in Chinese, but presented clearly enough to tell what's going on anyway. Most interestingly, we get side by sides with Titans Return Hot Rod, which shows the Hot Rod form of this toy to actually be a fair bit bigger. As Titans Return Hot Rod was already a bit big for a Deluxe, you can imagine the new one is surely pushing the boundaries of being comparable with Deluxes! The video as well as plenty of screencaps can all be found below - keep reading to see it all!
Through a Facebook video, we finally have a look at the retail version of POTP Rodimus Prime, the second toy in the first Leader assortment. Sadly the video itself is probably not worth watching, being both shot in vertical/portrait orientation and being quite low-res. You can find stills taken from the video highlighting key points for a quick look at the toy. We do have the video embedded just below as well, if you're dying to see the toy in action or get an early look at how some of the transformation works. Click through to check it all out!
Singapore fangroup Planet Iacon
broke the news - and site sponsor BigBadToyStore has just confirmed - that TakaraTomy's version of Power of the Primes begins in May! Titled very similarly as Power of Prime
, the figures listed are being released in a format seemingly identical to their US releases. But, what's interesting is what's not
listed from Wave 1. Keep reading for details!
From the Facebooks of HK-TF
members Waishing Leung, ChaRles Ng, Ting Yan Kwok,
and Fido Li
, we've got images of most if not all of Power of the Primes
! Among the highlights are new looks at Optimus and Rodimus Prime as well as Grimlock confronting a horde of Titans Return
Legends-class Gnaws. And also, Optimus Prime embraces his movie self (and the Prime Master/Titan Master/Matrix/Enigma cross-compatibility) and carries the Matrix of Faces. Keep reading to see the images, mirrored here for your convenience!
An unsourced anonymous image board post has provided something a bit interesting to look at: Power of The Primes Rodimus Prime broken down to its individual units showing a new perspective of how the full Leader Class toy comes together. As shown we can see the Hot Rod robot, plus the transformed state of the trailer that forms most of the Rodimus body, along with the Rodimus arms, which detach between forms. Of note which may not have been clear before, the Matrix chamber is located within the Rodimus Prime specific body portions rather than as part of Hot Rod directly. Keep reading to see the photo.
The first of wave 1 literally just started appearing at retail in the US a couple days ago, and we're already starting to see a quick inflow if data about wave 2! Via Southern Hobby Supply, we have a few listing for Power of The Primes giving info about the second wave case assortments. We know the breakdowns now for the Prime Master, Voyager, and Leader classes. Deluxe and Legends did not have populated info as of the time of this writing. Find out what's coming up in the full article below.
Toys R Us Canada is joining the stock photo drop lineup with new images of Leader Class Rodimus Unicronus from wave 2 of Power of The Primes in a newly posted product listing. The toy is a redeco of Rodimus Prime, evidently with a modified Rodimus Prime head featuring a visor and thick robo-stache. The smaller Hot Rod component homages Shattered Glass
Rodimus in its hood deco and use of a purple Autobot logo versus the Decepticon emblems used elsewhere on the toy. Keep reading to see the high res stock images!
Autobase Aichi has posted more stock photo assets from the first wave of Power of The Primes, now giving us in package shots of the first Legends assortment with Beachcomber, Dinobot Slash, and Windcharger, plus the remaining photography for Leader class Optimus Prime and Rodimus Prime. Of note, this includes the individual Hot Rod vehicle form, which has not been played up very much since the reveal of the toy. You can find all these new images mirrored below!

The Facebook page TFCN has shared some low quality copies of retailer stock photos for upcoming Power of The Primes toys. We've got the in-box images for the Leader Class Optimus Prime and Rodimus Prime. We also have Voyager Grimlock in box, plus the basic out of package images showing the robot and dinosaur modes. So far none of these show an ill-conceived sticker-hell to match what we saw of Starscream just recently
, but there's always room to be surprised once these are out in the wild! Click through to see the images.
