Studio Series Bumblebee Side By Side With Premier Edition Bumblebee In Hand Photos

Via Weibo, we have some ...interesting photos to show of the brand new Studio Series Movie Bumblebee figure. The newest Bumblebee is a brand new try at the 2007 movie's Classic Camaro alt mode, and the overall effort in realizing that looks pretty good. But it may not be as exciting when you see its size compared to The Last Knight Premier Edition Bumblebee for last year. The mirrored comparison photos make it hard to escape the sense that it's distinctly less toy for the same price. Click through to see it for yourself!

Officially part of the design principle for Studio Series was to keep each character within the line as close to on-screen scale with each other as possible in robot mode. In that context, the size of Bumblebee (and Stinger, incidentally) may be seen as a result of having to fit in with higher price point toys that potentially wouldn't have room to increase beyond a certain point. But from another perspective, it's a little hard to not want to interpret that as a positive-spin story to smooth over the toys having to get smaller again for cost reasons.
