"Imagine the look on your children's faces they meet real, live Transformers in our new base camp." was advertised in 1985 by the Universal Studios theme park in Hollywood, California. If you think the Bayverse costumes were corny, wait till you see this.
Thanks to a fresh batch of tweets from TFWiki. We have a look behind the scenes at The Transformers Universal Studios Tour. The attraction that featured "Live" Transformers characters such as Jazz, Grimlock, and Starscream for kids to meet.
The costumes are quite sketchy looking by today's standards with air duct tubing being used to cover the limbs between stretches of fiberglass robot parts. No doubt, still a thrill for kids who loved Transformers.
A scan of the gallery reveals so much cheesy goodness. What the heck is up with that Megatron? He looks like he had too much energon in the hot Los Angeles sun. That mock-ship, complete with energon cubes is a real hoot. What's most strange, is the shot of the room of costume parts and stuff.
