TFCon Chicago Third Party Panel Highlights And More On Site Testshots

Thanks to Radio Free Cybertron we have select highlights from TFCon Chicago's third party panel, including upcoming items from Maketoys, Fans Project, MMC, and more! As you might expect, photography in a darkened auditorium is sketchy at best, and we'll deliver clearer images of the panel slides as soon as they're available. Meanwhile we have photos of testshots of more third party toys, distributed via daim.choc. Keep reading to check out everything!

Fans Project showed a slide featuring the first member of their take on Dinoforce, the Japanese recolors of the Pretender Monsters. A silhouette of an armed triceratops was seen in the slide, but it's unclear if this indicates anything more than thematic dressing for the reveal. They also showed slides of a grey testshot for their Skullcruncher-alike, the fifth in the Function-X series.

TFC Toys had two more of their Not-Protectobots team shown, equivalents to First Aid and Blades.

Mastermind Creations showed the first two members of their line based in IDW's Decepticon Justice Division, based on Vos and Kaon, with media accurate alternate forms of a sniper rifle and torture chair, respectively. They also showed Commotus, based on the character Turmoil. This mold is also planned to be used as a representation of Impactor. Finally a vehicle shot was shown of a toy called Sphonx, who is very much G1 Mirage.

Maketoys revealed Rearend, their next installment in the Manga Mech series, this based on the IDW design of Tailgate.

While many more products than these were shown during the panel, one that attracted a great deal of attention was a new entry by X-Transbots. Reported as "Apollyon", the figure is a G2 Megatron scaled and in the style of the Masterpiece line subsequent to MP-10 Optimus. While the Gold Megatron anniversary Masterpiece could be an early indicator of a new official Megatron to come, people are not ignoring an early shot at a figure that might fill a significant hole in their collection.
