The Toys That Made Us - G1 Unicron Prototype Promotes Facebook Stream

The official Facebook page for The Toys That Made Us, Netflix's toy-themed documentary series, has posted an image to promote a livestream happening tonight at 7PM US Eastern Time. Why is this relevant to us here on TFormers? Well, not only is there a Transformers episode due with the new season of TTTMU, but also the image they used to promote this is the infamous unreleased 1986 Unicron prototype! Keep reading to have a look.

Shown at various BotCons and other shows, the G1 Unicron prototype is one of a number of shots Hasbro and Takara took at immortalizing the character in plastic in the `80s. But for better or worse, it was not to be. The first Unicron toy to be released was ultimately done for Transformers Armada in 2003, and has served as the basis for all subsequent versions of G1 Unicron to date.
