Simon Smith has added some interesting new entries to his growing record of custom decoed and packaged vintage Transformers. His two latest works are a particularly interesting crossover idea that never was - Transformers and the Nintendo Entertainment System, two giants of the 1980s.
Optimus Prime's deco is inspired by Nintendo's colors with graphics on the custom packaging drawn directly from original Nintendo console boxes. Megatron might be the real star though, having been made to evoke the NES Zapper pistol, in a deco layout that works brilliantly on the G1 Megatron toy. Even though we'll never see these as real products, these excellent, full-featured customs are a fun look at what might have been.
