Thrilling 30 Orion Pax's Secret Identity Revealed - See The Kup That Could Have Been!
ExVee - Thursday, February 08, 2018

The identity of the ultimately unused pretool second character for the 2013 Generations Orion Pax remained a mystery for a very long time. Speculation always leaned toward Kup due to some very superficial resemblance, but it was just that - speculation. Recently it had been let slip by some individuals with access to that information that the Kup idea was evidently correct, but nothing more than that. But today we got visual confirmation, and our first look at this unproduced Kup, via extra parts from leftover Botcon 2015 customizing class kits. Shawn Tessman even completed one in the style it might have appeared as a retail toy, and you can see photos of that below!

Pete's Robot Convention released the information and images via Facebook today, noting that the unpainted, unassembled leftover kits with the Kup head will be made available for purchase at their convention this year. Pricing is not specified at this time, but will probably be proportionate to the extremely limited nature of the item - just how limited is also not disclosed. Perhaps more information on these details will be released as time goes on. Meanwhile, it's interesting to see one concept of what the unreleased Thrilling 30 Generations Kup could have looked like had it materialized as a retail product!

Hasbro's people said during Toy Fair they have exclusives planned for Generations for this year, though they didn't reveal any specifics. Blast Off and Repugnus had both been discovered via leaked materials and distributor information, but it looks like at least one more figure may be joining their Special Edition ranks this year. Amazon.ca has a listing page for Deluxe Counterpunch, and while the currently attached price and some of the product info are a bit wacky, the associated product code makes sense compared to Repugnus and Blast Off. So what could we be looking at? Keep reading for another round of speculation!

During Toy Fair this year, the Hasbro team gave the invited fan media representatives a special treat, in the first reveal of what the next instance of Transformers Generations would be. Power of The Primes is wrapping up in 2018, and with it comes the conclusion to what Hasbro referred to as the Prime Wars Trilogy. Part of the meaning of this is that 2019 will be the beginning of something completely new, a point they made very clear despite having few real details they could share. But something about the way they talked about it concerned me and got me thinking. The following is a speculative post, so if you'd like to join me on a journey of theorizing the future, please click through and continue reading!
