Titans Return And Platinum Edition Reveals From Nuremberg Toy Fair 2016

As it was last year, a fan going by "Marvelous" has attended the Hasbro exhibit at the Toy Fair event getting ready to wrap up in Germany. She has collected information and shared it with TFW2005, and although security was reportedly tighter this year than last - hopefully including keeping well away from windows this time - there is some interesting info presented. This should serve as at least a partial preview of what's to be seen in New York in two weeks, so keep reading to find out more!

First of all, Titan Class Fortress Maximus was present. Details are thin, except that it's said to be very big and very accurate to the G1 iteration. No information has been presented so far to suggest if or how much of it might be reused from Metroplex. Few entirely new Titans Return toys were shown, however. Many of the already revealed toys were shown in packaging, and Powermaster Optimus, Blaster and Soundwave were on display. Newly shown are Legends Class Wheelie, evidently a new mold as it was specified to have an opening cockpit to accommodate Titan Masters. It was described also as "very G1-ish". Also revealed was Apeface - as a Titan Master pricepoint figure, so head-only for now, sadly.

Platinum had a bit to show. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Transformers the Movie seems to be very important, as both new reveal sets follow this theme which had been started with Planet of Junk Clash and One Shall Stand, One Shall Fall. Proper names for the two new sets are not indicated, but we do have contents. One features Galvatron versus Rodimus Prime, using the 2008 Universe Galvatron mold, and Titaniums Rodimus Prime. The other set is said to be Cyclonus and Sweeps. Cyclonus is specifically noted as the Universe Deluxe figure, and the Sweeps seem to be the 2010 Deluxe mold, as one was actually said to have the head sculpt from Botcon Devcon!

Finally, Combiner Wars had a minimal presence, showing only Victorion. The upcoming boxsets of Computron and Liokaiser may be held back for official debut in New York. No info was provided regarding Robots in Disguise, Masterpieces, or any other product series. As it was last year, photos are strictly disallowed so it's unlikely that we'll see anything leak out at this point, with or without a bald gentleman standing in front of it. While we may learn a few more details on these reveals, it sounds like this will be all we have until Toy Fair kicks off in New York on February 13th. TFormers will be bringing you coverage of the event, so stay here with us so you don't miss any of it. And be sure to tune in to Radio Free Cybertron's Toy Fair live stream event starting at noon Eastern Time on the 13th as well!
