Titans Return Chaos on Velocitron US Distribution Info

With the temptation of new toys - as well as a good deal on a Toys R Us gift credit to take the edge off the price tag - I set out to a couple of the remaining Toys R Us locations in my general area in hopes of coming home with Chaos on Velocitron. I did not. But in the course of inquiring about possible availability and with a quick check of the UPC number, a Toys R Us manager did have some interesting info to share with me that will likely be relevant to others. Keep reading to find out more!

While my hope was that other area stores could be checked for inventory, I was done one better, and the manager was able to call up info on what the regional distribution center had on hand. The facility in Georgia serves the Southeast region, several states worth of stores. The distribution center had received a quantity of the box set - about 270 of them. There was no indication one way or the other if this was the entire amount that warehouse would ever receive, but if you think that number seems a little low, I would tend to agree with you.

Investigating further, the location I visited had classified the UPC in its system in a way that caught our attention. It's currently in with an instruction to release any shelf space assigned to it - meaning if a price tag and spot were set, they should be removed and filled with something else. It's effectively saying the store will not be getting that product. Now, the status could conceivably change at any time, but this along with the low warehouse quantity might point to a situation where some Toys R Us locations are simply not going to receive this set at all. And those that do will probably only have a small amount of inventory that may not be replenished.

This information I've received only directly applies to the Southeast distribution region, and situations could be different in other areas of the United States. And with only one person providing this info, I will naturally advise that it may not be 100% reliable. But as much as anything, please consider this as a public service announcement: If you're interested in anything from this set, you'd probably be well served by going ahead and getting it as soon as you see it. I expect toysrus.com to offer these, eventually. But sometimes that doesn't materialize, or the quantity is very limited. This looks like something to be proactive towards. And if you can, as always, be awesome to your fellow fans and try to help out the folks who might not have access themselves. Good hunting, all!
