Titans Return Rumored 'Speed' And 'Strength' Boxsets Possibly Confirmed With Price And SKU
ExVee - Tuesday, February 14, 2017

A long list of rumors for Titans Return has, over the months, almost completely proven out. The last major remaining piece that was missing was the existence of a pair of boxsets which would include recolors and/or retools of various toys. We may be a step closer to proof of their existence. A secondhand report claims to have computer information from a Canadian Toys R Us that has the price and SKU for at least one such boxset. We'll go over it in more detail below, so keep reading...

From novabeam10 we have a report (currently without any screen images for proof) that Toys R Us in Canada has the Generations Titans Return Speed boxset in their system. The Canadian price of about $150 is similar to the pricing of Combiner Wars boxsets in Canada, which strongly suggests a US release will be priced around the same $100 level the Combiner Wars giftsets retailed for. The SKU is given as 290858.

The rumor for these boxsets listed two types. Speed is the one we have possible confirmation of here. Its contents were rumored to include Leader Class Quickswitch, Voyager Optimus Prime, Deluxes Fastlane and Nautica, and a Titan Master called Thunderclap.

We may also expect then that this verifies the Strength set as being real, in which case the rumors say it would contain Leader Class Magnus Prime, expected to be a recolor or retool of Powermaster Optimus, Voyager Tidal Wave, Deluxes Pounce and Iron Apex, and a Titan Master that was not named at the time the rumors were flying fast and free.

While the phrasing presented of the computer listing suggests boxset Speed is an exclusive to Toys R Us, that may only apply for distribution in Canada. But in any case, this would seem to improve the chances that we might hear something about these sets this Saturday during Hasbro's Toy Fair presentation.

It's been a contentious issue over the last couple of Prime Wars installments, and it's only getting more intense. We can see the appeal of stickers to solve budgetary problems, but we can also see the stickers peel - often before we've even bought the toy! In this editorial, RAC goes over the hows and whys of stickers and cites the remarkable consensus growing in a consensus-resistant collector community: Hasbro, Please Stop. Click through for thoughts on this sticky situation.
While still what we would consider early in its life cycle, it seems that a running change has already been carried out on the latest member of the generations Starscream family. Jason Rye reported this finding to us, which involves an alteration to how Starscream's wings/backpack connect to the body. The design tweak is said to improve how the jet mode comes together, and may have other benefits as well. You can see a side by side comparison of the two versions of Starscream, find out more detail, as well as get one of the batch codes identified as being associated with this running change below. Twitter user @GanguStars has posted an image showing two of the shelf-warmingest Titans Return Deluxes - Scourge and Chromedome - marked down to $7! In the case of Scourge this is particularly great news since you can now build the Sweep army of your dreams. As for Chromedome... time to double-check for that running error with the TakaraTomy face again! Keep reading for photographic proof.
Almost a month to the day that Amazon posted listings for the 4.5" three-step Authentics figures, Hasbro has posted official photos and product listings for the 7 inch line on their website! Optimus and Bumblebee look extremely similar to the smaller figures but with extra joints, and here we have the Grimlock that was leaked a while back. Keep reading to see!
