G1 Season One 25th Anniversary DVD Set Bonus Features Revealed
E-Z-B - Saturday, March 21, 2009

Shout! Factory has released the list of bonus features that will be included with the June 16th release of Transformers Generation 1 - The Complete First Season - 25th Anniversary Edition DVD set.

So far, there are three listed on the company's official website.

These include "A Look Back at Hasbro and the Origins of The Transformers," which seems to be some sort of documentary.

Joining this will be concept art and original Hasbro toy commercials, which are surely going to please the fans.

Agreed. My favorite G1 episode is "S.O.S. Dinobots," and the edits made in the Rhino version (lack of eye beams; rubble not disappearing) were annoying.

Nice! However a better update would have been fixing some mistakes! Thundercracker speaking in Starcreams voice, two of the same seeker in the background etc. I know they can't fix everything, (Swindle hanging with the Protectobots) but to me, that would be a better update!

Hey, $25 for season 1? Beats the crap out of 80$ at hmv for the old Rhino version (which is sold out). Even if this is in USD, it's still much cheaper. I wonder if I can muster the cash for this one.....

Huh, I was pretty certain this would have been released Energon/Cybertron style. I'm still passing since I have the series, but I wouldn't mind seeing the documentary and art.

C'mon now. Let's keep the topic on the G1 release. If you have Movie angst, there's another thread for that.

The edition you bought "a few years ago" is probably out of print, so would run twice as much as this new version. And the movie didn't "talk down to five-year-olds." It had to talk down to everyone else in the world, y'know, the ones who don't have TFormers bookma... read more

Wow, and just to think that a few years ago I bought a 'Special Edition' Complete Season 1 boxset, which includes a documentary, adverts, etc. for around the same price... I'll tell you what will be new... the packaging. Just another excuse to sell the same shizz with shinier wrapping pa... read more

WHOA! In all my years I have NEVER heard someone crap on the live-action movie like that! You sir, are a rebel! Way to go against the grain.

Yessss,...I think that having the bonus commercials is a sweeet idea. Maybe they'll have some footage of the highly Unsought after and unproduced, "Crapicon" figure. I hear it has Michael Bays likeness and comes with a Transformers movie script written on toilet paper.

Transformers At The Moon has posted the latest in their series of deleted audio and extended scenes from the original 1984 The Transformers cartoon series! This time, they've got over ten minutes' worth of dialogue from "Heavy Metal War," featuring the first appearance of the Constructicons. Keep reading to see the video along with a transcript of the dialogue.
The closure of ToysRUs provokes a lot of emotions - sadness, frustration at the circumstances, and in some a misguided sense of satisfaction stemming from their latter-day pricing habits. But at some point in our lives a great many of us were ToysRUs Kids. And so longtime Transformers fan and ASMzine proprietor Phil Zeman has created the site I Didn't Want to Grow Up, which is accepting submissions of your stories and reminiscences of visiting what was once the premiere source of action figures for children and collectors. Few would guess the last piece to be reissued from the original Transformers Generation 1 series would be the music scores. Even thought the original cartoons have been reissued, updated and restored multiple times. Fans that have been asking for copies of the Original Sound Tracks (OST) masters have finally gotten theirs, on vinyl of all things. IF, they were fast enough to buy one of the 2,000 copies that sold out in less than 10 minutes. The good news is a second pressing is in the works.
ALL GOOD THINGS…! Rodimus and the Crusadercons have reached their final destination. The trouble is, it’s not Cyberutopia. In fact, it’s not ANYWHERE. But they’d better get used to it, because they’re going to be there until the end of Time…
After selling out their limited run within minutes, Enjoy The Ride Records has announced that their vinyl G1 soundtrack LP will be heading back to the presses later this year! Details and an exact timeframe are not known at this time, but it's good to know that access to this (at present) vinyl-only release will be expanding somewhat. Keep reading to see the announcement!
