Animated Cartoon Japan To Begin On April 3, 2010; Card Game In Summer

Tomy Takara has issued a press release (PDF | translation) announcing that Transformers Animated will begin broadcasting on Japan televisions everywhere on April 3, 2010.

The show will air that Saturday and every Saturday after that at 8 AM on TV Aichi.

A footnote in the PR also reveals that Sega will be developing a video card game version of the cartoon and will be available this summer.

Siliconera seems to suggest that the game will be an arcade video card game. Sega is responsible for multiple games with a similar idea in Japan including Dinosaur King.

Details of how the game works were not released, but Siliconera says that Sega's previous arcade games, "have players scan cards with barcodes which are used to power up attacks or in the case of Love and Berry [another card game by Sega] accessorize."
