Milwaukee Begins Preparations for Transformers 3; Hopes This Is Just Beginning

The city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin is preparing for the production crew to arrive in Transformers 3, reports CBS 58.

Filming will begin on Monday and continue into Tuesday at the Milwaukee Art Museum where approximately 150 people, including principal actors, local crew, and paid extras will be on hand for the shoot.

Dialogue scenes are expected to take place outside and maybe inside as well. It is unknown if the art museum will stay an art museum in the film.

While this will pump a lot of money, Dave Fantle of Visit Milwaukee/Film Wisconsin estimates around $1 Million just for these two days, he and the city are hoping this is just the beginning.

There currently aren't any viable tax breaks that will lure many films to come to Milwaukee but Mr. Fantle is hoping that just showing the Art Museum to the world will boost tourism. And then later, they can work on those tax breaks.

Filming at the Tower Automotive was supposed to take place along with the Art Museum shooting, but has reportedly been delayed until August.

The news piece doesn't cover that portion of filming, so it is quite possible that this has indeed happened.
