Hasbro to Rename Stunticon Power Core Combiner Figure

Thanks to Hasbro's Lead Designer Eric Siebenaler who has reported on Facebook that "Spastic," the Transformers Power Core Combiner action figure will be renamed. This is due to the UK public demanding the Stunticons set that included the Transformers toy be changed due to the derogatory nature of the name. Hasbro has previously stated that it does not have any intentions to release the set in the UK.

They likely won't call him Dragstrip because this isn't meant to be the same as the G1 Stunticons, at least I believe that was Hasbro's excuse. Personally I didn't care about the name before, and I don't really care what they're gonna call it now. Then again I never had any interest in this set to begin with.:P

meh... I didnt really care either way. If they end up calling him drag strip then its win win in my book.

Roger Blitz, maybe it would be better if it were locked ahead of timeOk I'm out of this thread

sigh... can let please let this go now I realize that the name is offensive or what not, but that's not a reason to drop a ton of F bombs in here. This argument has been done to death. Any more disputes between the name and the (for a lack of a better term) ethnic connotations will get this thread shut down as well. The debate is over.

Not me, I throw away the packaging, usually. But I will get the figure. And I will annoy the living hell out of everyone who's offended by his name by calling him Spastic nonstop. If I do go after it, I think it will be one of the few that I leave in the box and out so everyone can see it

I didn't like the name Spastic either, but not for the same reason as those in the UK, so who is going to go after the 5 packs with Spastic on the box when they show up on eBay

What the hell Why is this an issue Why does anyone careYeah, Down's Syndrome is a TRAGEDY. So is murder and death, but Transformers still come with fucking guns. All that's been accomplished is wasting Hasbro's time and money, which will bite us in the ass at a later time with a price hike or certain figures not getting released.I mean, let me put it this way: What benefit do people with Down's Syndrome get from this The only thing I can think of is that "normal" people get to feel better about themselves for doing essentially nothing.Goddamnit, I hate this world and political correctness. It reinforces cliques and time wasting. When I end up getting this figure, I'm ONLY going to call him Spastic out of spite.
