Following on Hasbro's announcement of a partnership with Jagex to create the first Transformers MMO, we have some additional information that reveals a rumored third faction as well as some of the details of the game itself.

According to Jagex, the third faction will be an enemy to both the Autobots and the Decepticons. They also go on to say that at some point in the game, the Autobots and Decepticons will become allies to battle the third party aggressors. What is most interesting about this news is Jagex claims that the new third faction eventually will be represented in the Transformers toy and cartoon series as well.

Jagex has also revealed some details on the game itself, commenting that the Transformers MMO game will include aspects of a third-person shooter action game as well as elements of a role playing-style game.

On the character side, Jagex reveals the robot selections will feature the most popular Transformers characters. There will also be a special "combination" feature that is said to be one of unique features of this MMO game.
