BotCon 2011 - The Hall of Fame Fan's Choice is Waspinator
bwbm - Saturday, June 04, 2011

The fans have spoken (voted) and the BotCon 2011 Fan's Choice for the Hall of Fame is Waspinator! For the second year in a row, the fans have chosen a Beast era character for the BotCon Hall of Fame. Waspinator beat out Erector (which received a very humorous video tribute), Jazz, Soundwave, and Grimlock. What do you think of this fan choice and the so-far domination by Beast Wars characters? Let us know in the comments!

As a 33 year old man who has loved Transformers, let me also say, I voted for Waspinator too. It only makes sense that the fans choice would go to a fan favorite like Waspinator. I cannot tell you how many times during the late 90's and early 00's I did a bad Waspinator impersonation. Fans ... read more

Yes, but the original toy had 2 heads and horribly inaccurate proportions compared to what we saw on TV. The technology exists now to make a TV accurate toy of ol' Waspy

I hate to say this, but Beast Wars had much more characterization in it's first season than most of G1 in it's entire run. I have no problem with Waspy winning this one, he deserves it.

Another factor here is that there were 4 G1 characters nominated and only 1 Beast Wars character. G1 fans are divided amongst personal favorites while Beast Wars fan have no choice but to stand united. Nominate 4 BW characters and only 1 G1 and watch the G1 character win. Next years I'd like to ... read more

Waspinator can't be any better than his original Beast Wars toy. Let's face it, he's got one of the simplest transitions from robot mode to alt-mode, in both the show and toy.

we need all-new toys of all of the HoF members! At least ol' Waspy does. A Generations figure! Cmon Hasbro! The poor guy has been beaten and blown up all his life. Show him some love!

The other day, Optimus Primal voice actor Garry Chalk gave his first-ever Christmas address - getting into a tradition that Beast Wars Megatron actor David Kaye has upheld for many years now. Happy Halloween! Today we've dug up the Halloween Horrorcons, the one and only attempt Hasbro ever made to make Halloween-themed Transformers toys. Who were they, what were they, where were they supposed to be available... and why don't you have any? We'll take a look at that after the jump.
Thanks to lord ginrai we have a first look at a page from this month's issue of Figure King Magazine, but as it happens, what's important right now is not what's in this issue, but what will be seen in next month's issue: Masterpiece Dinobot! A small teaser showing the beast mode of a grey prototype is used to promote next month's feature. While we have seen some early looks at the design of the next Beast Wars Masterpiece (see links below), this image does seem a bit more refined. We've got the new images for you in the full post, so come in and have a look!
