"Twenty Years of Transformers" Press Event
Featuring The New Atari Transformers Video Game
Atari held a consumer press event on April 8th from 6:00pm - 10:00pm in NYC which showcased their new Transformers video game for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. The video game is scheduled to release May 11th. To help celebrate twenty years of Transformers, Hasbro and Cartoon Network joined forces with Atari to create a special "then & now" themed party.

Original cartoons along with new clips from Cartoon Network's Transformers TV show were shown. The original movie was playing for the audience to enjoy. Hasbro sent along some of their new Energon toys. A vintage collection of G1 toys were on proud display under lock & key, of course. Hasbro also sent one of their new 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime toys for the festivities. To round out the 20th Anniversary event, Dreamwave comic books, wall scrolls and posters were on hand. Classic Marvel comics books were also on display.

The press, wall street analysts, Atari Executives including Chairman Bruno Bonnell, and key partners were in attendance. Special guests included actors Garry Chalk (Optimus Prime) and David Kaye (Megatron). Transformers fan site BWTF.com was also there and has posted a review of the event. that you can read
