SDCC Hasbro Transformers & GI Joe Panel

Aaron Archer mentioned the name Mirage when the subject of new characters for the Alternator line came up. Also, the BTA (BinalTech Asterisk) line was mentioned to be Takara only release & figures will not come with future Alternators so they can keep the current price point but may offer the redecos without the figures. 11 new Alternator characters consisting of 5 repaints & 6 new molds are due out in 2006. It was also stated that there would be price increase in the Alternators line to meet the pre-movie demand.

The Universe & Re-issue lines are currently on hold but maybe offered on DTC (Direct to Consumers) via along with other figures consumers have a hard time finding locally. Such figures mentioned that may be also offered through DTC were the ones seen at OTFCC 2004 like the green build team redecos.

No plans on a TF & GI Joe crossover or War Within figures. Also mentioned was the are working on a Cybertron Hot Rod redeco that will be similiar to the Takara DVD exclusive due to Takara's agreement the figure will not be the same color scheme. The dropped hints about some new products in the works for next & they area also reviewing the next series after Cybertron & that Cybertron was the last piece of the Armarda & Energon Trilogy and expect a BIG surprise at the end of the Cybertron line at BotCon. As for movie news, since there is not a script yet, information was not available other then what was reported earlier & there will be a toy line.
