From Figsoku and Twitter user @digitamin, we've got more views of Masterpiece Beast Wars Megatron. This one is particularly of note, because it gives us a pretty good look at the Megatron prototype alongside Masterpiece Dinobot, showing - accurately - that Dinobot is almost as tall as Megatron is. In Beast Wars, Megatron was the tallest character in season 1, followed closely by Dinobot. We also now have a close look at the robot mode face. Of course while Megatron is likely to be more simple, the mass involved will likely mean a similarly high price to Dinobot. We have a good look at the display card as well, showing Megatron has already been designated as MP-43. Check out the new photo below!
We don't know what show is going on in Japan right now, but it turns out there is some kind of hobby expo and it's debuting a surprise new Beast Wars Masterpiece: Megatron! The Predacon leader is in his first season body, and while we can only see the robot mode at the moment, it's looking really sharp in this early stage. We can't see clearly, but it does look like it accurately captures the TV model with a full hand in the left arm hidden under the tail weapon. This first photo comes from twitter user ALT_tekka

If a TV show is very lucky, it will have during its lifespan some singularly defining moment that completely alters the way the entire work is viewed from then onward. If it's fortunate to the extreme, that change of audience perception will even be a positive one. As one of the most important contributors to the overall body of Transformers fiction, Beast Wars was graced with such a moment, when, on this day twenty years ago, March 9th, 1998, the episode Code of Hero debuted in US first run syndication. Its not every day we get a new animation from the folks at Robot Chicken. They've made a handful of wonderful shorts featuring many of the beloved, Generation 1 characters. This time, we get the fan favorite, Beast Wars Megatron. Voiced by none other than David Kaye himself. The video also features Scorponok and a somewhat rare non-show Maximal character, Polar Claw.
