Australia Toy Fair 2008 Crossovers Report

"Griffin" from Oz Formers is dishing out some information regarding the Transformers: Crossovers line, home to the Star Wars and Marvel Transformers sub-lines, from this year's Australian Toy Fair.

The new packaging for the Star Wars Transformers figures was on-hand for all to see, but the Marvel figures were the ones of interest.

Actual, on-display figures from the Marvel Transformers line that we have not seen before were Venom (with a muscle car alternate mode) and Spiderman (motorcycle).

Wolverine (offroad vehicle) made a semi-appearance, with only a package mock-up.

Other figures spotted, with "griffin"'s good eye, were on the back of Wolverine's mock-up package. These figures included Human Torch (jet), and black repaint of the aforementioned Spiderman, and a gray version of Hulk, which is a repaint of the green version that may be seen at sister-site Marvelous News.

For all of the images, head over to the Oz Formers Forums.

I'm not really understanding the "revive dead thread to make argument"

Digitalshakespeare: accidental breacher or forum ettiquette extrordinaire (or some other such nonsense)

Motormaster specifically was initially a copy of Prime and impersonated him for much of the episode until the "big reveal". To me, that would imply that he should be exactly the same size as Prime

:zombie

Hunter's complaint is based on the fact that Prime is a semi truck that becomes a robot by abandoning its trailer, while Motormaster is a Semi-truck's trailer that becomes a robot by using the semi for his feet. There is no way that Motormaster and Prime should be the same size. Motormaster should be much, much larger than Prime, except that we were watching a silly cartoon that reduced or increased the size of something as it wanted to sell us toys.

Taking Mass Shifting out of equation, Motormaster would have to be just the size of a semi or another large kind of truck to be the same size as Prime, and to properly combine with his fellow Stunticons.

That makes sense when put in context. I was thinking "cartoon accurate" instead of "reality accurate"

I think the Constructicons have always been the most interesting and cohesive combiner.

EDIT: Although if you change Motormaster to a LARGE Truck or SUV then the stunticons are kinda cohesive - but not as interesting.

If they made Motormaster an actual semi truck with a trailer, I wouldn't care who else they made. :whatwhat

Of course, G1 Prime came with a trailer too, and we all know what happened there.

On the badassery scale, semi truck >>>>> SUV any day of the week.

My problem with him being a semi truck is that it already makes him a combiner - ala-magnus.

If G1 Motormaster were actually done correctly - Prime would be the size of his foot.

So any sports cars would be too tiny to form "Legs" for him. I suggested a truck or SUV because its big enough to be meanacing over a sports car - but not so much that it becomes ridiculous.*

*ridiculous - not that i am forgetting the subject of discussion or anything.

I'm not really understanding the "If he was done correctly" bit. If I remember correctly, in the G1 cartoon, the entire stunticon team was created as an answer to the Autobots' predominantly car oriented force, by essentially copying them. Motormaster specifically was initially a copy of Prime and impersonated him for much of the episode until the "big reveal". To me, that would imply that he should be exactly the same size as Prime

dude, silverbolt now? Is there no end to these surprises?

It was reported during BotCon 2007 that Sunstreaker's brother Sideswipe will be released with the same mold but with a different chest mold.

Wrong. They will be the SAME mold, and have a way of transforming to APPEAR they have a diff chest mold. But they WILL have diff head molds.

I doubt this Silverbolt will be a combiner. Its already twice the size of the original. So that would be one BIG combiner! ... maybe. Also, what happend to all the news on Animated? That was there too.
