A3U Podcast - Interview with Gary Chalk

Gary Chalk gave up his time for an interview! The veteran actor has lent his talents to so many productions including: Freddy Vs. Jason, Dark Angel, Stargate SG1, Beast Wars (hello? Optimus Primal?), Sonic the Hedgehog, Reboot and many more. He says he didn't like the Michael Bay movie. Check out the post and discussion in the TFormers Community.

Does anyone know where this podcast disappeared too. Just ran across a link to them for another interview and saw they did one with Gary. Now that's two podcasts I'd like to hear even if they are old.

?

However, the reason why it was called Beast Machines in the first place is that if they'd stuck with their original name of Beast Hunters they would've had to change the name for international release again.

In Canada Beast Wars was called Beasties, actually. Beast Machines' title was left as-is.

o.O

Then why do I have vague memories of Beast Wars being called Beast Machines?!?!?!

Damn retroactive memory.

There was Beasties, then Beast Machines (as is, since there was no "wars" in the title).

As with most of the BW/BM actors, they see the whole "Beast" thing as one show since their involvement was in the earlier stages of production. Gary Chalk talking about BM Season 1 as "BW Season 4" makes sense, since all he ever knew was the voice stuff he was doing (with most of the same cast).

Anyway, Don Murphy is a chode. Not that that's news.

I hope Gary gets well soon. He seems like a cool guy.

Off that he didn't seem to know that Beast Wars and Beast Machines were separate series, though. He seemed to think that they were just seasons 4 and 5 of Beast Wars.

That could be because, as he mentioned earlier in the interview, in Canada Beast Wars was called Beast Machines, "War" having been deemed "to violent" for the name of a show.

So in Canada, and Chalk is Canadian, you had Beast Wars known as Beast Machines, plus the actual show Beast Machines. Two shows, one the sequel to the other, with the same name.

EDIT-Just realized you're Canadian. D'oh. Well you shouldha know that :P

He seems like a pretty cool guy and he was, of course, spot-on about the movie.

You can just stream it from A3U, no need to download.

Other then the movie bashing, good interview.

I'm surprised too. But of course, not everyone liked the movie.
