Classics Astrotrain does NOT Combine with Jetstorm?

Fellow TFormers Forums member, "gizmo_spaz" has questioned whether a statement made by Hasbro concerning the ability of Classics Universe Astrotrain to combine with the Toys R Us exclusive movie Jetstorm (itself a recolour of Energon Jetfire) is actually true.

Read the official statement by Hasbro below and then watch the video to see his evidence.

Do YOU have these two figures? Do they combine or has Hasbro gone "all Wreck-Gar" on us all and made a mess of things? Post your comments below!

"This figure is loosely inspired by the AC-130 Spectre gunship that appears in the SCORPONOK battle scene at the beginning of the TRANSFORMERS movie. The more direct inspiration for this toy's jet mode is the Russian An-225 Mriya aircraft. The Mriya was used to transport the Russian space shuttle and, by a complete design fluke, Classics ASTROTRAIN can be attached to JETSTORM by its front landing gear." - Transformers.com

Um.... Kill me for asking but ... why would we want to connect Astrotrain and Jet Storm? Nothing special happens like getting a ginormous gun or anything. I'm miffed.

This might have had a little something to do with it... or at least the inspiration for it...

.... Ok. I'm sold! Will be trying the combination this weekend. So you say turn Jetfire's head around? ^_^

here's a tip for people wanting to get astrotrain to fit a little (note still not so you can hold AT and not have jetstorm fall) more snuggly.

Just turn Jetstorm's head around.

I had coincidentally purchased the Jetstorm figure the day before all this hooplah went down. I figured out the "flip" thing right away, but even knowing that, my Astrotrain just doesn't want to click into place. Ah well, no biggie. :)

i finaly connected them. it looks kinda neat. but i couldnt even move them a little and astrotrain falls to the side. and i always thought shutles were larger than or the same size as planes like that. anyway. astrotrain is an awsome figure. i love it. the jetstorm figure is okay. but i always have to put the wings up for him to fit on the shelves with my other figures. i cant wait for tankor and blitzwing. i hope hasbro releases more triple changers. so, i am gonna stick with my origional conclusion that they do not in fact connect. though i will state that they do look neat sitting together. thumbs up to eveyone who has participated in this thread. is this the end?

I'm just surprirsed no one realized this before Hasbro announced it.

My question from all this is: Why?

who really wants Astrotrain to powerlink with Jetstorm/fire anyway?

They arent even from the same series or allegience.

The Toys R Us movie Jet-whatever repaint is a Decepticon. So, they at least have the same allegiance. The way this all got started was the reveal that the plane Jetstorm was modeled after is actually the plane used to haul space shuttles around in that fashion. So, it is kinda neat.

Isn't this on par with complaining that Classics Megatron doesn't fit in G1 Prime's cab?

Say what, now?

I'm just saying different characters on opposing sides from different lines

Why does anyone think they would connect?

and if they dont - why would you make a video batching about it??

Well, the latest repaint Jetstorm is in fact a Decepticon, so he might be inclined to offer Astrotrain a lift now and then I would think.

They look cool together in alt modes, too- one can imagine them separating in flight, transforming to robot modes, and kicking some Autobot cans. :awsum: EDIT- That would make a killer stop-motion! Somebody do it!

*wishes this thread would go back to being about the toys*
