Transformers 3 filming commenced yesterday at Gary, Indiana near the Majestic Star Casino, where Josh Duhamel's character Major Lennox and Optimus Prime were on set.
The filming, located at the old Lehigh cement plan on the Majestic property, will continue today, reports the local
Post-Tribune.
It is unknown how long the crew will stay here or when they will move to the City Methodist Church, a cathedral found at West 6th Avenue and Washington Street.
The article reports that the film crew "might" go there, but a
previous reports seemed pretty certain they will head there.
In a time of economic recession, a blockbuster film crew blowing in creates a lot of buzz for the town, in both economic and visibility. Gary, Indiana is not an exception.
Town residents should be happy to know that the scenes filmed in the city will definitely make the final cut of the film.
"A very important piece of information is revealed in this scene," Producer Lorenzo diBonaventura tells the newspaper. "The movie makes no sense without it."
The area will
double as Ukraine.
