It crawled its way there, but Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon has passed The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King the fourth highest grossing film of all time.
The film currently barely beats out the latter film by nearly $16,000, at $1,119,126,378 and $1,119,110,941, respectively.
These prices are not adjusted for inflation.
While the film is still making some money in the theaters, the number three spot Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 currently sits at $1.33 billion and will likely continue to climb, so that list spot is out of reach.
But number four is not bad, eh? Meanwhile, in the domestic market, Transformers 3 sits at the 19th spot at $352.2 million, making up 31.5% of its entire box office gross.
