Transformers 5 - Michael Bay Returns to Detroit with $21 Million to Play With

As rerported previously, the Detriot Free Press have confirmed that Paramount's "Transformers 5" film will again be filmed, in part, on location in and around Detroit Michigan. What's more the meets the prize, is paramount will be picking up $21 million from the city as an incentive to feature the city in the next Transformers movie. No word on exactly when or where the filming will begin, but the expectation is it will be for sometimes this Summer.

“Transformers 5" will film in Detroit this summer in a big way, thanks to some creative transformation of previously approved Michigan film incentives.

The Michigan Film & Digital Video office confirmed Friday that the hit Paramount franchise is returning to the Motor City for what sounds like a substantial stay.

While the $21 million incentive paid by the city to a mult-billion dollar company like Paramount Pictures may seem a little strange. A major motion picture production on the scale of "Transformers 5", is expected to bring in over $80 million in revenues and create as many as 2,000 jobs for the city.
