Transformers 7 to Begin Filming in Canada, Then Peru on $200 Million

Following our previous report, Canadian news site, Le Journal De Montreal, has published a new report confirming the Transformers 7 (Beast Alliance?) movie is scheduled to begin filming in Montreal, Canada at Studios MELS and MTL Grandé next July through to September 2021 for 11 weeks. After which time they are reported to be heading to Peru for the second round of filming. Read the translated quote from Le Journal De Montreal:

Eleven weeks of shooting are planned in Montreal, in the premises of Studios MELS and MTL Grandé, between the beginning of July and the end of September. The production will then head to Peru to film the second portion of the feature film.

According to our information, this mega-production from the studio Paramount Pictures had been in the sights of Montreal for more than a year. The first talks with the Hollywood studio in order to attract the filming in the metropolis had been started at the end of 2019, that is to say before the start of the pandemic. The film's budget would hover around $200 million.

Peru seems like a good place to be filming in the jungle with lots of Beasts around. We also learn from this report that Transformers 7 was scouting this location in Canada as early as 2019 with an estimated budget of just $200 million. If the budget info is true, this puts the TF7 film ahead of the Bumblebee Movie that only had a $136 million budget. Let's hope this means they will spend more money on robots than humans.

I was too young to be super into the G1 designs but I do like how similar this OP looks. The G1 designs aren't my favorite but I still think they're cool. It also gives me Transformers Prime vibes and since that's the cartoon I grew up with (I think Transformers Animated slipped past me) and my favorite, that's an instant plus for me!

I like the designs of Transformers prime. I think it was an excellent merger between the Michael Bay designs and Transformers animated. I'm not a huge fan of overly technical designs. It's almost like they're naked with car parts on top of their body. I don't like that because it makes me feel like in a fight, they're completely fragile and exposed.

This model seems better than the Bumblebee Optimus Prime. Anyone else? Please post your thoughts!

I don't agree with this. This looks like the G1 toy combined with the first Michael Bay Prime. I would have to get used to this like I did at the Bay movies version.

Hey I mean Bay brought us the first three movies and did what he had to do but...I look forward to seeing what this new guy will bring to the table. Guess I need to actually watch Bumblebee first though?

I'm glad, I'll leave room in my imagination for this one being a really killer film. First Bay movie wasn't too "true" to the original content/ characters, obviously, but struck a great chord with me and my friends and family for being very funny and having some great action scenes. Haven't seen Bumblebee but it seems to have won back over the audience that saw the first one, so I hope they continue doing well with these. The live action films add something to Transformers that the other media doesn't, even if the "true" fans don't like it (no disrespect to the "true" fans, of course).
