BotCon 2011 - Transformers Generations Rage For Cybertron TRU 3-Pack Revealed

Just in is yet more news from Botcon 2011 with an update following the announcement that Transformers Generations would continue in 2011. Well here is our first taste with a Toys R' Exclusive 3-pack release of Megatron, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. These figures feature some new paint apps with Cybertronian writing / designs. Megatron and Optimus Prime have clear plastic elements worked into the molds.
Cybertron is a floating hunk of scrap. Centuries of war have devastated the planet and sent millions of Autobots and Decepticon soliders to the junkyard. The evil Megatron and his Decepticon use the shell of a planet to plot their assaults against the Autobots. Their latest weapon? Dark Energon! Megatron surges with its unbridled, vicious power, ready to conquer the universe. But Optimus Prime and his Autobots will not go down without a fight - they're fuel by the same righteous and pure Energon that powered the golden age of Cybertron.

I guess new clear plastic panels really don't count as a retool but between that and my weakness for Cybertronian alt modes (still waiting for a set of triangle space jet seekers and a UFO Bumblebee) I'll still be picking this set up.

That's actually a pretty cool set. I would pay for these molds twice (or in the case of BB/CJ thrice) especially if these designs have a more Cybertronian look to them.

So is Generations TRULY going to continue (ie new molds) or just limp along with repaints until the only left to do is put it out of its shelf-warming misery?

We already know its going to be repaints.Did you forget already?According to the instruction from stuff we already have.Kup,Scourge,Thunderwing,Wreckgar......cant think of any other instruction with different heads.Help?

Oh yeah Warpath to Hardhead........

I didn't forget about the repaints. It's been made abundantly clear that there'll be plenty of those. I was just curious if in all the BotCon chatter it was announced whether or not there would be anything new to accompany said repaints.

Since all I've seen are reiterations of obvious fact, I'm left to guess probably not.

Oh......Well then.Uhhhhhhhh.....I havent read nothing about anything new.Repaints I dont want unless they tweek something on them, anything on them.......

Oh and G2 Prime will be repainted.

:lame Repaints Galore! Only they would release a 3 pack of figures that everyone could find and not release the ones that everyone can't find and WANTS!

I agree that a Set of 3 Seekers either the Classic / Coneheads being a better choice than these. I would also suggest a Wreck-gar set or a Galvatron with Scourge set.

Seekers set would have been a much better idea...

Tfboy - 2011-06-06 @ 11:54 am

Oh wow. These are nice, but I can see some Toy swaping issues here. I mean, remember all the fuss about the "Premium series" Transformers, and how Hasbro had "Screwed us over" because they released the "earlier" versions of the Transformer first? Yeah, I would watch out for those....

MikePrime - 2011-06-06 @ 5:09 am

I was actually looking for the word "Galvatron" printed on the box. This 3-pack is nice, but I'm not 100% sure if I will buy it.
